Orascom Telecom Algeria SPA ("Djezzy") was granted a license in July 2001 to provide GSM telecommunications services in Algeria, OTA operates a GSM network in Algeria and provides a range of prepaid and postpaid voice, data and multimedia telecommunications services. OTA launched its operations in February 2002. As of Dec 2012, OTAs network served over 17.8 million subscribers, representing a market share of 55.2% of total mobile subscribers in Algeria.
