Its definitely a better future with IRAQNA.
In October 2003, the Iraqi mobile network was awarded to Orascom Telecom which
affirms Orascom’s position as the leading mobile network in the region which
has been successfully capable of providing technically sophisticated networks
and information, roaming and voice services in an unprecedented timeframe.
Orascom’s network in Iraq operates the GSM system which is the same operating
system of OT in Egypt, Tunisia, Algeria, Pakistan and a large number of African
countries. As such, this qualifies OT for the leading GSM mobile network
operators in the Middle East and North Africa.
OTH won the bid to operate the GSM license providing comprehensive mobile
telephony services in Iraq’s Central Region which includes Baghdad, the
capital, and some of the neighboring governorates comprising 39.4% of the total
Iraqi population which amounts to a total of 26 million inhabitants.
As of the end of 2003, Iraqna boasts a substantial number of 82,000 subscribers
divided into 68,000 under the category of “Call & Control” tariff and 14,000
under the Business tariff
